Why scores plateau

Doing more tests won't fix mistakes you don't understand.

Bandzen analyses your performance beyond the final score, helping you identify exactly where marks are being lost.

ReadingTrue / False / Not Given

You're consistently losing marks on True / False / Not Given questions because you're treating implied information as stated information.

WritingTask Response

Your ideas are relevant, but paragraph development is limiting Task Response. Your estimated criterion score is 6.5.

SpeakingLexical resource

Your fluency is strong, but repeated vocabulary and self-corrections are reducing clarity.

ListeningSection 3

You lose accuracy when two speakers disagree — the answer usually follows the correction, not the first claim.

The research team expected the results they eventually recorded.

BCoastal seagrass meadows store carbon at rates far exceeding those of terrestrial forest, and interest in their restoration has grown accordingly.

CThe team had anticipated a modest decline across the surveyed sites. Instead, the meadows recovered more rapidly than any published model had predicted.

Writing Task 2. Some people think governments should spend money on public transport rather than roads. To what extent do you agree?

[…]

Firstly, buses and trains move much more people using less space. A single train can carry the same number of passengers as hundreds of cars1, which reduce congestion2 and pollution at the same time. For example in Delhi, the metro has taken many cars off the road since it opened.

Secondly, public transport is fairer. Not everyone can afford a car, specially3 students and old people, so spending on buses help4 the people who need it most.

On the other hand, roads are still necessary. Buses themselves use roads, and goods are delivered by trucks. If roads are in bad condition, the economy will suffer5.

Strength. A clear, relevant example that supports the argument well.

  2. 2

Language. Subject-verb agreement error: "which reduces" refers to singular "A single train".

  3. 3

Language. Wrong word choice/spelling in this context: "especially" is needed.

  4. 4

Language. Subject-verb agreement error: "spending" requires "helps".

  5. 5

Development. Relevant point, but it is asserted briefly without explanation or concrete support.
